About George Boehme
George Boehme was elected to the West University Place City Council on May 9, 2009.
He has raised his family in West University Place, has launched businesses in the area and has been a devoted supporter of numerous community activities.
Boehme and his wife, Elizabeth, a physician in private practice whose office is located next door to the studios of Channel 13, have lived at 3005 Robinhood for almost 20 years. Their twins, Emma and James, were born in 1998 and are both in the fifth grade at West University Elementary School.

Prior to entering the restaurant business, he founded the West University Examiner in 2001 and succeeded in growing the weekly newspaper into the Examiner Newspaper Group, which also published editions for Bellaire, Memorial and River Oaks. In 2006, Boehme sold the Examiner Newspaper Group to Houston Community Newspapers.
